Whatsapp Functionality You Should Know - I’m not too big into social apps, or apps that allow you to text unlimited because my cellphone plan already has unlimited everything. Texts, calls, internet. You name it. But I had not thought about texting or messaging when I didn’t have any signal (You know, the telephone signal, the bars, etc).
Thank God, now being part of the era of the smart phones, now my smartphone can be taken outside of the coverage area per se, and not have any way to call, or text, or use the internet in my phone UNLESS, I connect my super smart phone to a wireless connection. Then, I can be somewhat connected, since I can iMessage, and check my facebook, which sometimes become my sole addiction for a solid 10 minutes of my young wasteful life.

I downloaded Whatsapp a couple of months ago because one of my best friends took a trip back to Argentina, and he wanted to keep in touch. He had heard of this app called Whatsapp that allowed you to “text” for free as long as you had a wireless internet connection.
The great thing about whatsapp is that it’s been designed for any kind of smartphone regardless of their operative system. Whatsapp has now been developed for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia and you can message between those phones, which makes it a very used cross-platform application to message almost anyone with a smartphone that has the app.
A month or two after my friend came back from Argentina, I traveled down to Chile. Once I downloaded Whatsapp, I noticed how many people, and even lots of my contacts, actually use it, and especially in other countries where texting and calling are quite expensive, and not a lot of people has an unlimited data plan. Whatsapp has actually moved most of the smartphone users with limited texting or minutes to call, to becoming heavier data user instead, as they now all of them do their texting through this app or similar apps.
This app can be downloaded for free, but after a year of usage, it will cost you 99 cents. Big deal, right?
